How to Make Love Fly like an Eagle

Part of the year I’m living in the mountains and enjoy the privilege of watching the eagles’ flights. Whenever I hear an eagle’s call I feel the magic of this majestic creature.

Here’s how the eagle reminds me of the three secrets that bring out the beauty of love and make it last a lifetime.

Secret #1

Where’s an eagle there’s often an annoying crow. Although the eagle is called the king of the skies the small crows seek to chase the eagle away. But does the eagle surrender? No. Even though the eagle could harm the small crow easily, it shows its greatness by forbearance and forgiveness.

Love is like a flying eagle.

Start seeing problems like annoying crows. Start seeing problems like annoying crows. As women we tend to replay the record of a scene that angers us, over and over again. Remember the statement of Psychology Today: "Living with resentment is like taking poison and expecting the other person to get sick."

Don’t make resentments crash your love’s flight.

Instead, open up your heart and embrace mistakes and imperfections with forgiveness. I am not promising either a magic cure, nor that all goes away forever. But it’s the only small step that leads to an easier day, an unexpected laugh, a mirror that doesn't matter anymore and a love relationship that lasts.

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” — Gandhi

Secret #2

Like an eagle, know who you are and what you want, and act accordingly. This seems to be a stupid suggestion. However, we often disconnect from our true self and our values when the emotions heat up. Self-awareness enables and empowers you to reflect and tap into the true power within yourself. It opens the gate to limitless potential and possibilities, and strengthens your self-esteem.

The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology published that researchers found that self-esteem colors not only a person’s perception of self but impacts expectations of the partner and the tenor of the relationship.

Be the eagle in your love relationship and don’t behave like a crow. Whenever challenges show up, take a deep breath and connect to your inner source of power. Stay connected to your core and take control of the challenge while you’re behaving like an eagle that sings its song of the seventh heaven of love.

As a final lesson of the eagle, let’s not overlook another most important thing …

Secret #3

Does an eagle consider changing its territory because of some irritating crows?

Throughout the last years divorce has become the trend and golden ticket to avoid facing challenges and personal growth in love relationships. But successful couples know that this would be like surrendering to the crows. Do you think that an eagle will be released from crows by changing to another sky?

Crows will appear again sooner or later. The wise eagle learned to perceive them as part of this flight. He doesn’t obey his vision and lifestyle to become a chicken instead. Although love is flying in the seventh heaven there are always struggles showing up. Therefore hold tight to the vision of your love’s bond and learn to master the challenges with grace and ease.

When I look up to the eagle in the sky, I often wonder if he knows the following quote of Carl Jung, who said:

“All the greatest and most important problems of life can never be solved, but only outgrown. When some higher or wider interest appears on a person's horizon, the problem loses its urgency. It was not solved logically in its own terms but faded when confronted with a new and stronger life urge.”
